Placed at the entrance of Henderson’s original main building in 1890, the bell rang for class periods, meals, and other occasions. It also rang the night of the fire that destroyed the building in 1914.
The three buildings are all included in Henderson’s historic district, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places last fall. The beginning design phase of the projects is under way. A preliminary completion date has been set for June 30, 2025.

The students are working on summer projects ranging from rocketry to an autonomous rover and ground-penetrating radar. The grants are provided by the Arkansas Space Grant Consortium.
