Henderson State University's Division of Information Technology Services serves as the backbone for all technology at Henderson. Our goal is to create and sustain an environment where student success is our first priority.
Information Technology Services
Academic Technology incorporates Henderson's learning management applications such as Canvas, Grammarly, Kaltura, TurnItIn, and many others. Academic Technology provides and supports faculty development on the use of online and classroom technology.
- Canvas Learning Management System (Instructure-Canvas) is the supported LMS at Henderson.
- Classroom teaching stations - The technology within the classrooms on the Henderson campus varies according to the needs of each specific classroom. Please visit the Classroom teaching station page.
Campus AV equipment covers audio/visual equipment that is outside of the teaching and classroom environment. This includes consultation, installation, repair, and support of assorted sound systems at the stadiums, video streaming, informational television screens in public areas, and more. Communication - Email for students is Outlook with Office 365 while email for employees is Google Mail. The on-campus VOIP telephone system is C3X. Support for Outlook, Google Mail, and 3CX are provided by the Help Desk.
Help Desk - The Information Technology Services (ITS) Help Desk provides technology support to students, faculty, and staff on a wide range of products.
Student computer labs - Henderson supports over 465 computers in 20 computer labs across the campus. The Huie Library alone provides approximately 100 computers. Some student computer labs have advanced applications such as the Adobe suite.
myHenderson is Henderson's intranet. Every student and employee has access to myHenderson. myHenderson is where students will find an unofficial transcript, check a semester's account status, and view financial aid. It also allows faculty and staff to input grades, email students by class, view pay stubs, and manage password resets. Contact the Help Desk with questions about access to myHenderson.
Network - Henderson State provides wired and wireless network access to all students, faculty, and staff. All buildings, including residence halls, have wireless internet service operating both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz to provide optimal compatibility for devices. Each student has access to one Ethernet port if an alternative to wireless service is needed or desired. The HSU system is served by a 10Gbps fiber internet connection provided by the AREON group. Every student, faculty, and staff member is given a network username and password, managed by Microsoft Active Directory. This account is used to log into computers around campus as well as web services like myHenderson.
