Assessment Planning Goals

Outcome 1: The Office of Assessment promotes, coordinates, and oversees assessment practices for all academic and non-instructional programs/units of the university.

Planning Goal: Ensure there is dialogue about academic student learning assessment and non-instructional unit effectiveness.

Supports University Operating Plan Priority Two, Strategy 3: Achieve Accreditation or Licensure for Programs Currently Unaccredited or Not Licensed

Outcome 2: The Office of Assessment functions as coordinator and information repository for the Higher Learning Commission 4-Year Assurance Argument and 10-Year Comprehensive Evaluation and associated accreditation information and mandates.

Planning Goal: Ensure continued accreditation.

Specific Activities:

  • Participate in the General Education Committee
  • Persistence and Completion Academy Project
  • Creation of Criterion Committees
  • Timeline for HLC 10-Year Comprehensive Evaluation

Outcome 3: The Office of Assessment directs the operation and management of TracDat (Improve), the university assessment management software, and Faculty 180, the faculty vitae, syllabi, and course and advisee load data repository.

Planning Goal: Ensure that TracDat and Faculty180 are updated as needed and supports the university needs.

Specific Activities:

  • Consult with Faculty to update Faculty180 information and workload form
  • Make sure that not only assessment plans are in TracDat (Improve), but also data and action plans have been added

Outcome 4: The Office of Assessment implements and manages the results of important institutional surveys and data sets, along with coordination of governance practices by major university constituencies.

Planning Goal: Develop a project calendar to effectively manage institutional surveys.

Specific Activities:

  • Communicate with departments about gatekeeper duties
