The Henderson State University Fashion Merchandising program is designed to help students build a strong foundation in fashion merchandising. Students choosing to specialize in Fashion Merchandising will learn about textiles, merchandising, retailing, retail buying, fashion promotion, consumer markets and costume history.
In addition, all students complete multiple fashion merchandising-directed field experiences. The New York Fashion Study Tour shows students selected facets of the fashion industry and New York as a fashion center.
Upon completion of the program, students will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a specialization in Fashion Merchandising.
Career opportunities include work as a fashion coordinator, buyer, visual merchandiser, sales representative, store manager, regional manager, wholesaler, resident buyer, educator, divisional merchandise manager, general merchandise manager, entrepreneur and company owner.
