Early Childhood Development

The Early Childhood Development degree is for students who have earned the Arkansas Birth through Pre-Kindergarten Teaching Credential and who wish to manage or work in child care facilities. This is a non-licensure program.

Candidates must have completed an Associate of Applied Sciences (AAS) Early Childhood Development program of study at an accredited two-year college.

Admissions Guidelines

  • Earned Department of Human Services Birth Through Pre-K Teaching Credential (contact Arkansas Department of Human Services for guidelines)
  • Passing score on NOCTI Early Childhood Care and Education advanced exam (information may be obtained at
  • 2.50 GPA or better
  • Passing score on admissions interview (including portfolio)
  • Criminal Background Check clearance
