Child Care Management

The Henderson State University Child Care Management program prepares students for a variety of careers that target the health and development of children from birth through early childhood.

It focuses on developmentally appropriate practices for children in a variety of settings that align with standards from state and national accreditation associations in child development. The comprehensive nature of this degree prepares graduates for a variety of jobs that are in demand nationwide. Graduates may become child care facility owners; work as preschool teachers, day care directors or specialists in the field of child life; or advocate for children.

The Early Childhood Development program offers a Bachelor of Science degree for students who have earned the Arkansas Birth through Pre-Kindergarten Teaching Credential and who wish to manage or work in child care facilities. This is a non-licensure program. Candidates must have completed an Associate of Applied Sciences (AAS) Early Childhood Development program of study at an accredited two-year college.
