Dr. Heather Thayer, Assistant Professor of Music at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, enjoys a career in numerous settings. She has performed for International Music Festivals, Conferences, and Solo Recitals throughout the United States and abroad including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Panama. She has held teaching positions at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Austin College, Ouachita Baptist University, and was a Teaching Assistant at The University of North Texas. In addition to instructing all levels of applied horn and violin, Dr. Thayer teaches lecture courses in aural skills. She has performed with The Dallas Winds, The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, The Sherman Symphony, The Lone Star Wind Orchestra, Ann Arbor Symphony, Toledo Symphony, The Firelands Symphony, DFW BRASS, and The University of North Texas Wind Symphony. In her spare time she enjoys traveling and hiking with her husband, Richard, and her dog, Rosie.
