Get ready to learn, be amazed, and explore with space themed storytimes, games, crafts, and snacks in the Huie Library second floor classroom on Tuesdays at 2 PM. Huie Library will be offering A Universe of Stories Summer Reading Program. This program will take place on Tuesdays from 2-3 PM starting June 4, 2019 in the second floor classroom of Huie Library. The programs will include space themed storytimes, games, crafts, and snacks. Full schedule listed below. The events are best for ages 5-10, but other ages are welcome. If you have a group of 7 or more that are interested in coming or have any additional questions, please contact us at 870-230-5258.

  • June 4 - Pioneers of the Cosmos - Can you hear them calling? Voices from the past! Voices of the future! Learn more about the pioneers of space.
  • June 11 - Cat in Space (at the Reynolds Planetarium) - Take off on a lunar adventure with a curious stowaway cat!
  • June 18 - Soaring to the Sun - It’s hot, hot, hot! Rocket into space for a wild ride around the sun with great books to read, stellar sun facts, and fun activities.
  • June 25 - Universe of Art - Join us for a variety of space crafts!
  • July 2 - Aliens are Coming! - Greetings, Earthlings! We have come to invade your planet and steal your snacks! Protect your planet and learn more about us with some amusing play and scientific exploration.
  • July 9 - Astronaut Training - Get ready to be a space traveler with astronaut training activities!
  • July 16 - Moon Landing - Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the moon landing with fun, moon activities.
  • July 23 - Under the Stars - Look up and you’ll see stars aplenty filling our sky. Discover new facts, play fun games, and enjoy learning about these twinkling light and the creatures that only come out under the stars!
  • July 30 - Space Games - End of summer reading party!
