Henderson State University (HSU) students are permitted to take courses from Ouachita Baptist University (OBU). HSU students must complete an inter-institutional agreement from, which can be found on the Registrar’s Forms webpage. The form must be signed by the program director responsible for the equivalent HSU course and approved by Academic Affairs administrators on both campuses. Inter-Institutional credit is intended for those students when there is a course schedule conflict, a course is not offered by HSU or when engaged in a cooperative learning program.
It is important to note that simply completing the form and submitting it to the Registrar’s Office does NOT guarantee enrollment in the course. Students should arrive the first day of class and notify the OBU instructor of their presence. The OBU instructor will either approve or deny entry into the class based on available space. If denied, it is the student’s responsibility to report to the HSU Registrar’s Office and immediately drop the course. Failure to do this will result in a permanent transcripted record at the end of the semester, which will not be subject to removal or alteration.
OBU students are also permitted to take courses from HSU following an identical protocol. Once an OBU student submits an inter-institutional agreement form to the OBU Registrar’s Office, the HSU instructor of record will receive an email. NOTE: Receipt of the email notification does not guarantee a place in the course. On the first day of class HSU instructors will have the right to deny enrollment based on available space. It is, however, expected that if space is available, the OBU students will be allowed to attend class. At the end of each academic session the OBU and HSU Registrar’s Offices will communicate with faculty to ensure grades are submitted and transcripted correctly.
