The NTSO is a service organization geared to be a liaison between the non-traditional students and the Student Government Association (SGA) and other HSU leadership. We provide a service commitment to the campus and/or community with a yearly service project.
Our goals are to help non-traditional students have a better campus experience. Since we have so many students covering almost every major, there is a lot of knowledge that we can share. If you need to know about what classes to take to get through your major faster, we can tell you. If you want to know about major stumbling blocks we have encountered so you don’t have to we can tell you that also. If you need to know where to go for help, we have that covered also.
The NTSO is working closely with the Center for Student Success and Transition office located on the 2nd floor of the Garrison Activity Center. The Center for Student Success and Transition is beginning a program of mentorship for non-traditional students and offers tours to new non-traditional students as requested. Ther is currently one work study position filled by a non-traditional student. A future endeavor is to have a Graduate Assistant Position for a non-traditional student.
