The School of Business is the location of one of seven state-wide offices of the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC). Funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U. S. Small Business Administration, it is a partnership between the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the Henderson State University School of Business. The HSU ASBTDC is a university-based economic development program which provides assistance to entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout the ten counties surrounding HSU. The center is a valuable asset to our School of Business students, as it provides students with practical real-world training and experience by coordinating many of the center's client projects with faculty and students. Students apply business concepts to assist the clients with their business planning in classes such as small business management, human resource management, marketing, retailing, and sales management. Students then formally present their ideas to the ASBTDC business clients; a tremendous learning experience.
