Departmental Instrumentation

The department is equipped with modern instrumentation which is effectively incorporated into chemistry laboratories. Senior year independent research is required. Instrumentation in the department includes:

Bruker 200 MHz FT nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer equipped with an auto-sample changer.

Hewlett Packard GC-MS (gas chromatograph with mass selective detector).

Fourier transform infrared spectrometer

Thermal analysis equipment(differential scanning calorimeter and thermal gravimetric analyzer) .

Cary 50 UV/visible spectrophotometer.

Electrochemical Analyzer.

Hewlet Packard diode array UV/visible spectrophotometer.

Quaternary gradient high performance liquid chromatograph.

Flame/graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometer.
