GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Application Deadline for applying into the nursing program is February 15th.  The application is located on the Department of Nursing website.  Late applications are accepted.  Please schedule an appointment with Dr. Barbara Landrum, Department Chair, if you are a transfer student.  All other students may schedule an appointment with their advisor.
  • The deadline for ALL nursing scholarship applications is FEBRUARY 15th.

LEVEL I (Sophomore) Nursing Students

  •  Please contact Mrs. Loy, 870-230-5009 for requirements for your clinical uniform and lab coat. 
  •  Please remember to submit a COPY of your TB Skin Test and/or CPR card if it expires between August - May of the current year.
  • ALL students enrolled in Nursing Skills are expected to come prepared EACH class session by viewing the skills cds, reading the skills technique and topic content from Potter & Perry (6th edition) and your Castaldi (5th ed) Skills Performance Checklist.  You must practice outside of class time to be successful in mastering each skill.  All students who come unprepared to class will be asked to schedule a make-up time to perform the skill successfully within one week of the unsatisfactory performance with Mrs. Loy.

LEVEL II (Junior) Nursing Students

 Please remember to submit a COPY of your TB skin test and/or CPR card if it expires between August - May of the current year.

Virtual Clinical Excursion (VCE) which accompanies the book.  [This CD is sold as a package with the book at a reduced price].
Recommended:  Doenges, M. Moorhouse, M.F., & Murr, A. 2006.  Nursing Care Plans:  Guidelines for individualizing client care across the lifespan (7th ed).  Philadelphia:  F.A. Davis.

Please note that the recommended book and VCE will be used for the senior level pediatric course as a continuing text.
