Holly Tree Re-dedication

Huie Library is hosting a re-dedication ceremony on Saturday, November 11 at 10:00 am on the South Lawn.
The holly trees near the bell on the South Lawn were planted in 1920 to honor the five students and one faculty member who lost their lives in World War I. There was  a nationwide campaign to honor the lives lost in the war by creating living memorials. The grove on the Henderson campus is the last surviving memorial in Arkansas.

During the ceremony, a plaque listing the names of the men for whom the trees were planted will be unveiled.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the first floor of Huie Library will be open for a reception and guests are invited to view the World War I exhibits that are currently on display. The history club will have special event t-shirts available for purchase.
