Department of Mathematics and Computer Science
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science offers programs of study leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in traditional mathematics, teacher licensure, and computer science. In addition, minors in mathematics and computer science are also available.
The courses in mathematics are designed to meet the needs and interests of students who plan to teach mathematics in the elementary and secondary schools, to give students a strong foundation for graduate study, and to prepare students for a variety of rewarding careers. Potential employment opportunities include banking, securities, market research, insurance, manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, government agencies, and industries.
The courses in computer science are designed to meet the needs and interests of students who plan to enter graduate study in computer science, information sciences, or enter the job market after receiving the bachelor's degree. Courses are also designed to provide the technical skills needed in other disciplines.
