Library Technician - Archives Assistant
$10.50 per hour
40 hours per week

TYPICAL FUNCTIONS
Reporting to and working together with the University Archivist, the Archives Assistant organizes and coordinates projects and maintains digital, print, and other resources for the Henderson State University Archives. This includes but is not limited to scanning, digital editing, and preservation of archival material.  The assistant will guide student workers and will be responsible for collection and compilation of statistics, creating and editing records and finding aids, and maintaining the University Archives webpage. Performs other duties as assigned. 

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other departments of Huie Library and the university as well as alumni and the wider archival community. Ability to interpret, follow, and communicate archives and library policies required. Willingness to engage in additional training. Experience with Word, Excel, Photoshop, and website maintenance preferred.

SPECIAL JOB DIMENSIONS
Physical upkeep of the Archives, which includes lifting 50+ pounds, cleaning, and regular maintenance to the collections is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; college degree plus two years of experience in a library environment is highly desirable.
