Golf
Golf is a sport where individual players or teams hit a ball into a hole using various clubs, and is one of the few ball games that does not use a fixed standard playing area. It is defined in the Rules of Golf as "playing a ball with a club from the teeing ground into the hole by a stroke or successive strokes in accordance with the rules."
Henderson State University offers a two man scramble and a one man tournament. The courses used are either De Gray State Park or Turtle Point Country Club here in the Arkadelphia area. Long drive, closest to pin, and a chipping contest are held on designated holes. Prizes are given to the winners. The top two finishing individuals or teams win prizes. These matches are held on Sunday afternoon’s and are 18 hole competitions.
