Basketball (5 on 5)

The game of basketball was started in 1891 by James Naismith.  It has taken on numerous adaptations from its original format and is very popular across the world. 

This event is one of the most popular intramural sports at Henderson.  Seventeen men’s teams and seven women’s teams played in last year’s league before the tournament was held.  There are anywhere from 150 to 200 people in the gym watching these competitive games every night.  This activity takes place in the Garrison Center Day Gym from 4-9 p.m. for about a full month.
