Spades
Spades was invented in the United States of America in the 1930s and is played quite widely in North America. Until recently it has been little known elsewhere, except in a few places where American troops were stationed, for example in parts of Germany. However, since the mid 1990’s, spades has become popular internationally because of its easy availability in on-line card rooms on the Internet.

Henderson State University hosts a doubles tournament. All standard spades rules apply. Participation varies from 20 to 25 teams.  Champion receives a $25 gift certificate. Open to men, women or co-ed teams. The tournament is held in the evening starting around 6 p.m.
