Nestled in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains, Arkadelphia has many opportunities for outdoor recreation including a paved, walking/biking trail that crosses the city and the 78-acre Feaster Park with basketball courts, softball fields and pavilion. Arkadelphia Aquatic Park is a fun place to cool off in the summer months. The town is just 8 miles from DeGray Lake Resort State Park, a 13,800-acre lake that offers swimming, fishing, water sports, golfing, camping facilities, wildlife and spectacular views.

What is there to do in Arkadelphia?
Since Arkadelphia is home to two universities, there is always something going on. Arkadelphians enjoy cultural activities, performances and athletic games on both campuses. The annual Rally on the Ravine is a highlight for the whole community, culminating in a football game between the two institutions. This competition, known as the Battle of the Ravine, is one of the longest standing university rivalries ever, going on 85 years. Henderson's Student Recreation Center has indoor basketball courts, an indoor walking track and a multipurpose room that is home to events all year.
The town has numerous dining options that include everything from seafood and Mexican to Italian cuisine and southern BBQ, and a variety of shopping options to meet everyday and special occasion needs. Options for visitors' lodging include Captain Henderson House, Henderson's outstanding bed and breakfast, as well as other inns and hotels. Arkadelphia's proximity to the resort town of Hot Springs (35 miles) makes it a popular destination. The drive to Little Rock is just over an hour. Arkadelphia has a small regional airport operated by Henderson and an Amtrak station.
