Department of Social Sciences

Welcome to the Department of Social Sciences at Henderson State University! The members of our department teach courses in three primary subject areas, geography, history, and political science, and we offer student majors in history, political science, and public administration/public management for those pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree through Henderson’s Ellis College of Arts and Sciences. In addition, we offer a major in social sciences for those pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Education degree through Henderson’s Teachers College. We also offer students minor fields of study in geography, history, international studies, political science, and social sciences.
Our various majors and minors are especially designed for those who plan careers in law, law enforcement, the military, the ministry, public administration/public management, the State Department and foreign services, teaching, and related vocations.
