Waivers for Persons Over Age 60

Act 678 of 1975 as amended by Act 525 of 1977 provide that when any person sixty (60) years of age or older is admitted and enrolls as a student at Henderson State University, the university shall waive the general in-state registration (tuition) of each student on a space available basis in existing classes. Students age 60 or older will be required to pay all other applicable fees and charges. Only the in-state tuition fee is waived. Course fees, out-of-state tuition, activity fees, etc. are to the responsibility of the student. The waiver applies to both Arkansas resident and non-resident students.

In order to receive the initial waiver, the student must come to our office and submit a documentation of proof of age. A current drivers license or birth certificate are acceptable for age verification.

During the process of the applying for initial waiver, the student should inform our office of the number of credit hours they will be enrolled in for the current term.

In order to receive the waiver for subsequent semesters, the student must contact us either in person, by telephone or email to inform us of the number of hours they will be enrolled in for that term.
