DISTURBANCE—CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR Physical Disturbance or Fight

CRIMINAL ACTS :
If you observe a crime in progress or behavior which you suspect is criminal, immediately notify the University Police (230-5098) or contact the Arkadelphia Police Department (246-4545).
Report as much information as possible, including what the person(s) is/are doing; where it is happening; physical and clothing description of those involved; if weapons are involved, what type; vehicle description and license number if possible; direction of travel when last seen.
DO NOT APPROACH OR ATTEMPT TO APPREHEND THE PERSON(S) INVOLVED.
GUNFIRE:
Active shooter incident.
HOSTAGE:
•Remain calm. Do not attempt to fight back.
•Make mental notes of captor’s characteristics and sights/sounds if you are taken from campus.
•University Police will involve other law enforcement agencies as necessary.
SUSPICIOUS OBJECT:
•Do not touch.
•Clear immediate area. Assist the handicapped. Elevators may be used.
•Call University Police and/or Arkadelphia Police.
THREATS:
•Notify University Police.
•Make an effort to record words used in threat accurately.
•If the threat is made by phone, try to identify the voice. Get phone number or other information.
DEMONSTRATION:
•Do not overreact or enter into any type of confrontation with the demonstrators. Most demonstrators will be peaceful.
•Notify University Police and building administrator.
•Secure documents and equipment.
•Carry on normal activities if possible.
•Evacuate building if necessary.
