Parking on Campus
All members of the university community holding a valid operator's license are privileged to operate properly registered
motor vehicles on the Henderson State University campus. Any student or member of the faculty or staff who owns or operates a vehicle on the Henderson State University campus is required to register that vehicle with the University Police Department and display the appropriate decal in the prescribed location on the vehicle.
For students, one registration per academic year (September through August) will be required. There will be a $30 vehicle registration charge for each vehicle registered each academic year. This registration will provide one vehicle parking decal that will be sufficient for the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms for the current academic year. A charge of $3 will be made for each replacement decal. A free temporary permit is available in the event a student drives a different vehicle for a short period of time (up to two weeks).
Faculty and staff members may register one vehicle, and they will be provided one vehicle parking permit at no charge. There will be a $20 registration charge for faculty and staff members who desire to register an additional vehicle.
Visitors to HSU may park in visitor parking spaces without charge. These spaces are located by Womack Hall, Foster Hall, Education Center, and the Barkman House. University parking lots may be used in the event these areas are full. Visitors using these lots may be cited for not having a valid permit. If this occurs, the visitor should sign the back of the citation and send it to the address provided at the bottom of the citation. The citation can be voided.
Parking lots marked Commuter Parking Only are the Arkansas Hall lot and the Haddock Street lot. These lots offer limited parking for commuters only
. Parking lots marked Faculty Parking Only or Faculty/Staff Parking Only are reserved for the use of HSU faculty and staff. All other lots are open parking and may be used by anyone with a current HSU vehicle decal, be they resident, commuter, or faculty/staff. Whispering Oaks residents are restricted from parking on the main campus during the hours of 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Special event parking for large groups of guest must be arranged with the University Police Department two weeks prior to the scheduled event. Special guest permits and/or other arrangements will be provided. Contact the University Police at 230-5098 for details.
