International Focus Week March 4-8

Henderson State University's annual International Focus Week will kick off Monday, March 4 and run through Friday, March 8th. This year's theme is "The Immigrant Experience". Below are some highlights planned for the week: 


Monday, March 4th 
"Irish Immigration to America" with Eimear Melton, secretary, Irish Cultural Society of Arkansas, 11-11:50 in Arkansas Hall 110. Host Randy Duncan. (Check for seating availability).

"Gospel without Borders" documentary, Garrison Center Lecture Hall, 7-9:00 p.m.


Wednesday, March 6th 
"Profile of Immigrants in Arkansas 2013"   faculty and staff brown bag lunch lecture with Dr. Sherece Y. West-Scantlebury, President and CEO, Rockefeller Foundation, 11:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. in Garrison Center Ross Room. 


"Novel Non-Platinum Organomettalic and Doped Carbon Materials for Voltage Generation and Storage" with Dr. Ali Sheikh, professor of chemistry in Reynolds 322. Host John Long. (Check for seating availability). 


Thursday, March 7th 
"Skyping with Graphic Artist GB Tran" in Arkansas Hall 110 from  9:30-10:45 a.m. Host Michael Taylor. (Check for seating availability).


"The Immigrant Experience" panel discussion with Dr. Eunice Akoto, Adjunct Professor in the School of Business; Dr. Wal Gudrian, Assistant Professor of Foreign Languages; Dr. Lloyd Moyo, Assistant Professor of Mathematics; and Dr. Veronikha Salazar, Associate Dean of Students, in Garrison Center Lecture Hall 12:30-1:15 p.m. 


Friday, March 8th 
17th Annual International Food Bazaar in Garrison Center Day Gym from 5-7:00 p.m. Adults $10 ($12 at door); Child $5; Family (4) $25. Tickets available at the International Office.
