Advanced Instructional Studies ESL (M.S.E.)

The Master of Science in Education in Advanced Instructional Studies is designed to enhance the pedagogical knowledge and effectiveness of current teachers and provide them with the opportunity to grow in specific content knowledge areas of their own interest. The English as a Second Language Specialty consists of 18 hours in core professional education courses, 12 hours of ESL content courses, and six hours of electives.  This program leads to an Arkansas endorsement in ESL. Donnie Whitten's three education degrees from Henderson have brought him to a position as superintendant of the Arkadelphia School District and as a recognized community leader. For his many contributions, he was named one of "20 to Watch in 2007" by the Arkansas Democrat Gazette.
