Euonymus japonicus Thunb.
(Celastraceae)

Euonymus japonicus is an evergreen shrub or small tree up to 5 meters or taller that is native to Japan. Euonymus japonicus, while not at present confirmed as spontaneous or naturalized in Arkansas, has been observed as possibly spontaneous in the state (the plant in question may have been persisting from cultivation near an old home site, though the plant was quite small). Euonymus japonicus is spontaneous or naturalized in scattered locations in the eastern US, especially in Louisiana.
