Miller Analogies Exam (MAT)
Purpose: Scores from
the GRE or alternate test, MAT, are required by some departments for admission
to Henderson State University's Graduate School. The Miller Analogies Test is a
high-level mental ability test requiring the solution of problems stated as
analogies.
Fluency in the English language, a broad knowledge of
literature, philosophy, history, science, mathematics, and fine arts, and the
ability to reason out relationships may contribute to performance on the MAT.
Description: The MAT consists of 120 partial
analogies that are to be completed in 60 minutes. Additional time is required to
fill out personal information for reporting scoring results.
The MAT
is computerized and is available Monday through Friday. The cost is $85.00. Call
(870) 230-5470 or go to CAS 125 to schedule an appointment.
The
candidate will see the score at the end of the exam. The test proctor can print
an unofficial score report at the conclusion of the test. The official score
reports are mailed to the candidate and recipient in two to three weeks.
