Ms. Linda Adams
Linda Adams was born on August 9, 1946 in Pine Bluff to Xelphin and the late Zelma Adams. Linda graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1964. Linda met her future husband Carlee the first Sunday night of her freshman year at Henderson. While attending Henderson Linda was a member of Delta Zeta, and Heart and Key. She and Carlee married on December 29, 1967. She graduated in 1968 with a BSE in Home Economics. She received her MSE in Home Economics from UCA in 1979.
Linda has authored 2 cookbooks and was the editor of a cookbook for the Arkansas Baptist Children’s Homes. She has conducted over 2,100 cooking classes and programs. Linda has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the 1992 Arkansas Home Economist in Business of the Year, 1993 Arkansas Home Economist of the Year, 1995 Outstanding Alumna Award from UCA, and the 2001 Award of Merit for significant contributions to the Arkansas Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. Linda worked as a Home Economist for the Cooperative Extension Service, Frank Lyon Distributors, and First Electric Cooperative. She also worked for THV, Channel 11, for many years as a Consumer Specialist.
Linda retired in 2000, but continues to be a Home Economist consultant. She and Carlee are active members of Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock. Linda serves on the Arkansas Baptist Children’s Home Women’s Volunteer Board and travels to other churches speaking to women’s groups and sharing her Christian faith. She and Carlee enjoy traveling and spending time with their daughters, Cindy Adams who lives in Denver, Colorado, and Melissa Carozza and her husband Mike who live in Virginia. Linda fills her time with Bible studies, cultivating friendships, decorating, quilting, some gardening and taking care of her dad in Pine Bluff. Linda still enjoys cooking and trying new recipes. She and Carlee spend as much time as possible spoiling their granddaughters, Mallorie Grace and Cassidy Elizabeth.
