Staff honored for years of service

Staff employees at Henderson State University were honored for years of service during a luncheon and awards ceremony held May 22 in the Garrison Center’s Day Gym.
Sandra Rogers, an administrative specialist at the Multimedia Learning Center, was recognized for 35 years of service. Coak Matthews, head swimming coach, and Horace Plum, maintenance assistant, were honored for 30 years. Carmella Dickerson, administrative specialist for the Office of the Registrar, and James Murrell, skilled tradesman, were recognized for 25 years.
Receiving awards for 20 years of service were: Nancy Batchelor, student accounts officer; Reba Bruce, institutional services assistant for physical plant; Martha Bryant, administrative specialist for public relations; Sandy Denning, administrative specialist for finance & administration; Tim Jones, director of purchasing; and Lottie Ware-Hamlin, purchasing specialist.
Recognized for 15 years were: Lisa Buck, administrative support supervisor for computer and communication services; Crystal Campbell, administrative specialist for student services; Robyn Chastain, assistant director for Talent Search; Teresa Porter, administrative specialist for Talent Search; and Christy Winston, payroll services specialist.
For 10 years of service, the following employees were recognized: Brenda Chambers, assistant director of financial aid; Jeff Dean, maintenance assistant; Cindy Dillavou, administrative specialist for the student health and counseling center; Ernie Higgs, director of Garrison Center; Shannon Hogan, institutional services assistant for physical plant; Nancy Holland, administrative specialist for the School of Business; Kimberly Hunter, library tech-academic support; Charlotte Malcom, shipping and receiving clerk; Linda Mooney, administrative specialist for Ellis College of Arts and Sciences; Sheryl Strother, assistant director of Community Education Center; and Sharon West, institutional services assistant at physical plant.
Honored for five years of service were: Lisa Ayres, administrative specialist for Disability Resource Center; Deborah Collins, director of health and counseling center; Brandy Erwine, administrative specialist for aviation; Harvey Grassi, network services coordinator for computer services; Aaron Harford, academic coordinator for Veterans Upward Bound; Rickey Rogers, education specialist for Educational Opportunity Center; Drew Smith, director of International Student Programs; and James Tinzie, institutional services assistant for physical plant.
Recent retirees were also recognized, including: Bob Rowe, Educational Opportunity Center; John Tatum, physical plant; Alan Jester, physical plant; Ginger Davis, business office; Nancy Holland, School of Business; and Penny Murphy, public relations.
