Faculty honored for years of service

Henderson State University honored faculty members for their years of service at a recent ceremony.
Dr. Charles Weiner, professor of counselor education, was recognized for 40 years of service. Jack Meadows, associate professor of business, was honored for 30 years of service.
Honored for 25 years of service were: Dr. Randy Duncan, professor of communication; and Dr. Georgine Steinmiller, professor of special education.
Twenty-year honorees were: Dr. Margaret Hoskins, professor of accounting/associate dean of School of Business; Dr. Michael Kelly, associate professor and chair of the Department of Counselor Education; and Dr. Todd Wiebers, professor and chair of the Department of Psychology.
Honored for 15 years were: Dr. Marck Beggs, professor of English; Dr. Angela Boswell, professor of history; and Beverly Buys, professor of art.
Honored for 10 years were: Jim Duke, physics instructor and planetarium manager; Jennifer Maddox, instructor of dance/artist in residence; Jill Batson, instructor of English and business; and Betsy Fulmer, instructor of art.
Five-year honorees were: Dr. Megan Hickerson, assistant professor of history; Dr. Hee-Kyung Juhn, assistant professor of applied piano; Dr. Daniel Kendie, professor of history; Holly Morado, instructor of mathematics; Dr. Frank Smith, assistant professor of finance; and Katherine Strause, assistant professor and chair of the Department of Art.
Five retiring faculty were recognized: Jo Nell Driggers, instructor of mathematics; David Gardner, associate professor of mathematics; Dr. Blair Olson, professor of counselor education; Dr. Charles Weiner, professor of counselor education; and Charles “Hank” Wilson, director and assistant professor of aviation.
The Outstanding Academic Advisor Award was presented to Janice O’Donnell.
