Jason Johnston

Jason Johnston is using the degree he earned at Henderson to make a difference in the Arkadelphia community.
Johnston, an Arkadelphia native, is employed by Group Living Incorporated, a non-profit organization that helps developmentally disabled individuals. The Group Living mission is to help these individuals attain their highest level of independence. The organization does this by providing a number of work opportunities for participants at Group Living-owned businesses like The Honeycomb restaurant, The Beehive thrift store, and a housecleaning service.
Johnston’s first job with Group Living was a waiter and cashier position at The Honeycomb. He graduated from Henderson in May 2007 and in August became a follow-along supervisor for the non-profit.
Aside from entering a supervisory position upon graduation, Johnston says his Henderson experience was life changing in many ways. He met his wife Courtney at HSU, and as a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, he made life-long friendships. His Henderson education “has allowed me to be a productive member of our community,” he added.
