The initial meeting of the subcommittee of the University Assessment Team looking at the University Assessment Plan was held in the Dawson Room of the Garrison Center from41:00 pm until 5:00 pm.

After the introduction of new student representative Brett Smith the meeting was begun by Wrenette Tedder indicating that the job of the subcommittee was to document and explain the assessment process on campus. Once a draft document is approved by the subcommittee the document will be forwarded to other organizations on campus for approval and suggested revisions. These committees include Assessment Team, Staff Senate, Faculty Senate, and Student Government Association, President’s Cabinet, University Academic Council and Henderson State University Board of Trustees.

One of the main goals is to look and the Strategic Plan and bridge the Strategic Plan to the University Assessment Plan, showing the connection between these 2 documents.

The University Assessment Plan should highlight what we are doing to promote assessment and how training is occurring to change the culture on campus relating to assessment. Examples of methods used to accomplish this should be cited.

The University Assessment Plan will be e-mailed to subcommittee members by the end of today and the subcommittee members should review and make suggested changes. The suggested changes can be e-mail or hard copy sent to Wrenette Tedder by noon on Tuesday, February 15, 2011. Wrenette will summarize the changes and send them back to the subcommittee by February 17, 2011. With the goal being that the full Assessment Team can review the document by the next scheduled meeting on February 21, 2011 at 4:00 pm.
