Assessment Team Handbook Committee Minutes
November 18, 2011

Present: Bernie Hellums, Pam Ligon, Phillip Schroeder, Brett Serviss, and Wrenette Tedder

Absent: Deb Coventry

The Assessment Team Handbook Committee met and discussed the “reordering” of the itemized list of assessment items from their previous meeting. Phillip recommended links be grouped into unit and non-unit specific categories. Brett reassured the committee that the order could be easily changed as we progressed through this process.

The suggested “reordering” is as follows:

1. The University Assessment Team 
     a. Procedures
     b. Assessment Plan for the Assessment Team
     c. Academic Team Members and biographies
     d. Administrative Team Members and biographies
     e. Minutes of Assessment Team Meetings
2. Assessment Evaluation Instruments
     a. Instruments used to evaluate unit academic and administrative assessment plans
     b. Instruments used to evaluate a completed assessment cycle
3. Assessment Newsletter
4. Assessment Awards
     a. Evaluation Rubric
     b. Award Recipients
5. History of Assessment at Henderson State University with Timeline
6. Assessment Plan

1. Assessment Documents for Units
     a. Assessment At a Glance
     b. Assessment Quick Reference Guide
     c. Assessment Definitions
     d. Sample Rubrics for common learning goals
2. Assessment Planning Guide
3. Henderson State University Assessment Plan
4. Assessment Training PowerPoint Presentations

The TracDat link will stand alone.

Wrenette will provide subject lines to her PowerPoint presentations for ease of selection.

The committee agreed a template was needed for the Team’s bios to ensure the information provided by each member would be uniform. Information to include:

1. Unit of representation (specific). May need to assign members to specific units.
2. Degree
3. Job – title, years of service
4. Committee representation

Additional requirements for the Team’s biographies will be discussed in further detail during the November 21 Team Meeting.

Brett asked that the committee begin submitting documents and other pertinent information to him in electronic form. He will create individual assessment folders to store the various items and pull from the folders as he needs it.

The meeting adjourned at 2:20 p.m.
