Call for proposals

The Council on Teaching and Learning welcomes proposals from all faculty, staff and students (with faculty sponsorship) in keeping with the theme of the conference. We encourage you to think about ways - large and small - in which you use technology to create a more effective learning environment. There will be several tracks in which we invite you to take part. You may also propose a full session with multiple presentations or panel discussion.

The following list are suggestions:

Descriptive presentations:

  • Ways in which you have used technology (high tech or low tech) in a class or multiple classes
  • How online, blended, or on-campus classes compare

Hands-on presentations:

  • Teach a specific use of a program, app, or other technology that you have found successful
  • Brainstorm the effectiveness, (the good and bad when using the technology)

Discussion panel or session proposal:

  • How technology unites a course across multiple sections
  • Cross curriculum uses of technology (how can we connect different departments)

"Laptop" or "tablet" presentations: (like a poster presentation, but via laptop, tablet or phone)

  • Students or faculty may present a mini-use of technology, for example, a single assignment that uses technology effectively
  • Use iPads can be arranged

Important Notes: Students or faculty may present a mini-use of technology, for example, a single assignment that uses technology effectively. Also, "laptop" or "tablet" presentations by students must be sponsored by a faculty member.
