Since the University’s beginning in 1890, drama has been an important part of student life at Henderson.

The first theatrical performance, a farce entitled, “My Turn Next,” was presented on Tuesday, June 9, 1891, as part of the first Commencement Week activities at what was then named Arkadelphia Methodist College.  The Dramatic Club grew with Henderson, was formally recognized as “Masquers” on September 15, 1925, and is generally considered the oldest student organization on campus.
