Economics need not be an add-on to an already full day! HSU's 2006 seminar was held in Sheridan, AR. The seminar was entitled "Math and Economics: Connections for Life" and was held daily from July 10-14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with lunch and snacks provided. Participants received curriculum correlated to Arkansas Math Benchmarks and a $200 stipend.
During all one-week workshops, award-winning educators demonstrate interactive, classroom-tested lessons and activities that successfully integrate economics into core subject areas. Presentations feature economic lectures along with small group curriculum sessions to allow you to expand and apply your economic knowledge an grow professionally as a teacher.
Enrollment in these workshops is usually limited to the first 45 participants. Preferences isgiven to participants who have not previously attended Economics Arkansas workshops and teachers from Economics America School Districts. A $50 refundable deposit is required for workshop registration. The deposit is returned upon successful completion of the workshop or if you cancel by the specified deadline.
This workshop may be taken for graduate credit. A three-hour seminar course is available from Henderson State University. Additional requirements for those participants taking the course for graduate credit include extended hours daily and some outside assignments.
