How do I find the name of my advisor?
The name of your advisor is printed on your student account sheet when you register.
If you have lost this information, go to HSU’s web site è Reddie Connect è
School Services è Campus Connect è Demographic Info. If you can’t get to this
information, contact the School of Business office.

How do I get a user name and password for Reddie Connect?
Be an HSU student. Reddie Connect accounts are created automatically when you enroll.
(If you are an OBU student, see CCS for an account.)
To top
Are my Campus Connect and Reddie Connect ID numbers and passwords the same?
Your Campus Connect ID is your HSU ID (until we make the change, this is the SSN).
In Reddie Connect use your network username. Your username is printed on the top
of the schedule/receipt you get when you pay your tuition. You can also look up your
username on the terminal (NOT THE PC) located in the first floor hallway of Womack.
These are different accounts, so they have different “passwords.” The CC password is
called the pin and is set to your eight digit birthday. Your Reddie Connect password
is also initially set to the eight digit birthday, but can be set to any alphanumeric value.
This is a case sensitive field in Reddie Connect. So if your password is IAMASTUDENT,
iamastudent will not work.

Can a BBA major have a minor?
You may choose to have a minor outside the School of Business, but it is not required.
If you choose a minor, you may have to complete more than 124 hours. It would be a
good idea to visit with an advisor in the department that offers the minor.

What is the BBA core?
The BBA core courses are the 42 hours of basic courses that cover a broad range
of business topics, which are considered essential for all business students. This
core provides the foundation for additional study in the various business fields.
Most of these courses have prerequisites that both majors and non-majors
must have to take the course. It is very important to follow the proper sequence.
Core business courses cannot be taken by correspondence. BBA core courses are
listed in the catalog.

How do I know if it is O.K. for me to take a class?
You can look in the catalog for the course description to see if there are prerequisites
for the course or check with your advisor. Usually, the computer registration system
will let your advisor know if you are not eligible to take a class and why, but it is better
to know that before you try to register.
To top
If the computer lets me register for an upper-division class, does it mean that
I have approval to take it?
No. You are responsible for being sure that all prerequisites have been met. Always
check the catalog to make sure that you have the right prerequisites for a course.
Consult your advisor if in doubt. If you enroll in a course you are not qualified to
take, you may be asked to withdraw or be administratively dropped.

If I make a D in a business course, do I have to retake it?
It depends. If the course is in your major field of study, you will have to retake it.
Also, you must complete at least 50 semester hours of business courses with a grade
of C or better. If you have met these requirements, you could receive credit for a D in
a core business course.
