Board of Directors

The HSU FCU Board of Directors is a volunteer board, working hard to serve all the members.

George Finkle, III became a board member in 2005 being voted in as chair person for the 2007 year and is currently the chair.  George has been working for HSU for several years and is currently the Online Learning Services Coordinator in Instructional Technology.

Carolyn Nivens has been a credit union member since 1972 and board member since 2002.  She has served as board secretary for 2 years, board chairperson and currently vice chair.  Mrs. Nivens has worked at HSU since 1970 in the University Registrar’s office in part as Assistant Registrar.  Mrs. Nivens as served on many committees including, Henderson State University FCU Board Member, 2001-present, Henderson State University Athletics Committee, Henderson State University Staff Senate (Member of committee who drew up the constitution in 1987; 1988 staff senator; 2002-2003 senator), Member of ARACRAO – Arkansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, Member of SACRAO – Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.  During her employment she has been able to take many courses and special training at the university.

Tim Jones has been with the credit union since 1995.  He is the Director of Purchasing for HSU.  Tim is also on the investment committee for the credit union and treasurer.

Earl Fulmer, former math instructor and retired associate professor emeritus of physical science here at HSU. Mr. Fulmer has being a credit union member since 1993, was elected as board member at our 2005 annual meeting.

Laurel Williams, former education specialist with the Educational Opportunty Center, has been a member since December of 1999.  Laurel was elected as board member in the 2006 annual meeting.  Ms. Laurel R. Williams earned her B.S.E. in Family & Consumer Science, a M.S.E. in Counselor Education, and 40 hours beyond her Masters. She served as an Education Specialist at HSU from 2002-2007. Following a stint as a secondary public school counselor, Laurel joined the faculty at Ouachita Baptist University to teach in the Dietitics Department. Prior to seving as an Educational Specialist she accepted a position at Henderson State University as an adjunct instructor, as well as a supervisor of student interns in the Family and Consumer Sciences Department. She is a member of: Arkansas Counseling Association, Arkansas Association of Student Assistance Programs, Southwest Association of Student Assistance Programs, and American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.

Rex Holbrook, joined the Board of Directors for the 2007 - 2010 term.  Rex has his own business and wife, Jennifer, is the Director of the Multi-media Learning Center.  Rex is also our Security Officer.

Lonnie Jackson also joined the Board in 2007.  Mr. Jackson earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Henderson State University in 1985, MBA in 1997 and Certified Business Advisor certificate in 2006. Mr. Jackson is the director of the Small Business Development Center at HSU and voted HSU employee of the year for the 2007-2008 year.   In 2007, the HSU SBDC consulted 142 business clients, delivered 49 training events to 802 participants and assisted with capital formation of nearly $9,000,00 as well as developed strategic partnerships with Southern Financial Partners, Home Depot, Clark County, the City of Arkadelphia, Arkansas Minority Business Development Roundtable and area financial institutions that resulted in additional funding for SBTDC programs.  Mr. Jackson is also owner of Print Mania, a custom screen-printing, embroidery and computerized engraving shop.  His community involvement includes 2006 Vocational Achievement Award – Arkadelphia Rotary - Sunrise, 2005 ASBDC State Star Award, 2005 SBA District Director Award, Arkadelphia Volunteer Council – Executive Board Member 2003 - Present, Clark County Boys and Girls Club-Board Member 2008-Present, Henderson State University Employee of the Year 2008, Henderson State University School of Business – Mentor – 2007 - 2008, Henderson State University Federal Credit Union – Board Member 2007- Present, President – Arkadelphia Area Chamber of Commerce - 2005, President – Arkadelphia Rotary – Sunrise     July 2004 – July 2005, Clark County Strategic Plan – Economic Development Sub-committee Co-Chair 2006 - Present, Clark County Industrial Council Board Member – January 2002 – December 2005, Third Street Baptist Church – Finance Committee Chair – 2000 – Present
