Information Sessions
Promote your company's history, culture, structure, and benefits. In addition to an on-campus interview, hosting an information session may increase your overall effectiveness on campus because it allows you to meet a large number of interested and prospective candidates face to face. Most employers prefer holding information sessions in a private room with a large group of students. However, if you prefer, the Center for Career Development will arrange for an information table in a high traffic area for employers who simply want to hand out information and speak informally to students.
Information Sessions are generally scheduled during late afternoon/early evening hours between 3:00-5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Space is limited and must be obtained well in advance of your planned visit. Career Development will also advertise your Information Session to students through targeted mass e-mail to students and faculty, flyers distributed on-campus, the Career Development webpage, The Pulse 99.9 FM (HSU's radio station), and word-of-mouth. If you would like to publicize your visit in our student newspaper, e-mail The Oracle at oracle@hsu.edu or call 870-230-5221.
There is no charge for meeting spaces as well as for audio-visual equipment, however, there is a charge for refreshments or other special requests. All rooms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please contact the Center for Career Development at (870) 230-5442 or career@hsu.edu.
