The Office of Assessment was established in March of 2003 to support academic departments and administrative units in conducting assessment, program reviews, strategic planning, survey design and analysis, planning, performance measurement, and evaluation.
Assessment at Henderson State University has become part of our institutional value. The process allows for improvement in the student learning and development, and this will only reinforce the statement that has been associated with our university, "School with the Heart."
Assessment is directly associated with the mission of the university. The program will foster the maximum growth and development needed by students. By continuous and systematic evaluation, we will be able to promote a culture of learning, improvement, and accountability. This will allow for the Office of Assessment to gather data on students’ ability to think logically and critically, speak and write effectively, level of mastery of a field of study and other attributes needed to gauge the success of the university and its programs and/or departments.
