The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center is housed in the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development on the University of Arkansas campus. Our office utilizes several tools to assist in research related to starting or growing a small business including:
James J. Hill Reference Library, one of the most comprehensive on-line business libraries in the country.
For entrepreneurs with a need to secure a patent, we offer Patents in Commerce, a comprehensive tool that is structured as a complete system that covers all the critical steps required to launch a profitable innovation.
Profit Cents, a software tool for the analysis of an on-going company’s financial performance and benchmarking against industry guidelines.
ASBTDC Resource Library, a small, local reference library is available to the public during our regular business hours from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Books on business planning, marketing, market research, and other helpful topics are available. We also have sample business plans and the Risk Management Association (RMA) data that can be useful when determining the feasibility of a business idea.
ASBTDC Research Center, located in the Lead Center in Little Rock, the Research Center is known as the most comprehensive small business library in the state and is equipped with tools typically available only to large firms. The Center specializes in gathering and applying market intelligence to solve real-world business problems. Staff there can assist clients by identifying the best location for a new store, improving the effectiveness of direct mailings, finding an underserved niche, and much more. Clients of the University of Arkansas SBTDC will work with the Research Center via a business consultant in our office.
