The mission of the Garrison Activity and Conference Center is to provide convenient quality facilities and efficient services to support HSU programs. The Garrison Center serves as the community center of the campus and provides a shared home for the university welcoming students, faculty, alumni, staff, parents and guests of the university. The Garrison is both a facility and program designed to enrich campus life and advance the universities educational mission.
The Garrison Center, as it is more commonly known, is the home of our school newspaper, The Oracle, our yearbook, The Star , our own radio station, KSWH FM 99.9, the Reddie Bookstore, and the Reddie Cafe. The Center for Student Involvement office along with the offices for Student Success and Transition and the Center for Career Development, are all located in the Garrison Center.
The conference areas provide ample meeting space for student organizations, faculty meetings and off-campus conferences. There is also a 300 seat lecture hall for guest speakers and for student activities. The Garrison Center is also the home of three racquetball courts.
Scheduling for the Garrison Center is done through the administrative office of the Garrison Center and all university scheduling is maintained on the central calendar. Our staff provides quality service with the highest degree of customer service. During the academic year, we arrange facility use for a wide range of events. The summer months bring a large number of guests to campus for camps and workshops. During this time we coordinate housing, dining and facility use for groups such as Quarterback and Receivers Camp® , a variety of cheer and flag camps as well as our own HSU band camps.
