Heart Start

Orientation

Heart Start is the first phase of the orientation process for new students at Henderson State. All first-time freshmen who are fully admitted will receive an invitation to attend Heart Start. This is your opportunity to meet the administration, faculty, staff, and other first-time freshmen at Henderson.

This orientation session is a two-day event that lets you start your college career right! You will have the opportunity to register for fall classes, have questions answered, and take care of important business such as financial aid and on-campus housing.

Priority consideration will be given to those who respond promptly-“first come, first serve.” You should receive your registration form in the mail sometime during the first of April. Registration will begin May 1, 2011. To reserve a spot for one of the sessions, detach and return the registration form. You will receive a confirmation booklet with the date you have been scheduled. If your first choice session is already full, we will schedule you for your next choice.

Please do not plan to attend a Heart Start session unless you have received the Heart Start Orientation Booklet. Each session is limited to 200 students. We will not be able to accommodate students needing to leave early or those who can not attend the entire program. (You must attend all activities scheduled) If you have sent in your Heart Start application and feel as though you should have received a booklet, please call us at (870) 230-5228.

Heart Start 2011 will be here before you know it. We’re already making plans and our plans include you!

All students will be housed in East and West Halls.

You should receive the Heart Start date announcement post card, followed by the application flyer, and later, a confirmation booklet after your admittance to Henderson.
