A word of caution: pre-made templates typically should be avoided, especially if you send them to another person to be critiqued since they are difficult to edit. They are also not friendly with Automated Tracking Systems. Use the software to help you generate ideas, then recreate it on a regular Word processor that does NOT use tables, charts, or other graphics. 

Resume Now:  this is a free resume and cover letter builder for Live Career. You walk through an easy-to-use, step-by-step guide.  It offers features such as Text Tune (pick from resume samples written by industry professionals), multi-format save (.docx, .pdf, .rft, .txt, etc.), numberous templates to select from, and more.  You do have to create a free account for the Live Career site which allows you to save works in progress.
