Personal Branding

It is important to manage your personal brand and online reputation.  There are some free online tools that can help you manage what others see (or don't see) about you online.

BrandYourself: This website allows you to take ownership of search results from search engines like Google and Bing so that people find the "real" you and not someone else with the same name by putting your most relevant results at the top.

About Me: This website offers users a platform from which to link multiple online indentities and relevant external and social networking sites. It is characterized by its one-page user profiles, each with a large, artistic background image and abbreviated biography.

Your Personal Brand Workbook: If you don't know about personal branding, Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) has created an interactive workbook to help guide you through the process.  After exploring and identifying your strengths, PwC suggests following the 3 C’s—Clarify, Communicate, and Capitalize—to ensure you understand, share, and actively build your expertise. The workbook also includes resources on how to reflect your personal brand online and in your job search materials.
