Water loss or contamination

An emergency exists when the campus loses water or the water supply becomes contaminated in some way. This may be determined by widespread sickness, or a change in the color or odor of water.

In this emergency, Maintenance would probably report the problem to Arkadelphia Water Utilities and ask for assistance. Assessment would need to be made to determine the cause and location of the loss or contamination. Depending on the circumstances, the Crisis Communications Plan could be used to notify the Emergency Management Team. The Office of Public Relations would handle any negative publicity.

In this emergency, Arkadelphia Water Utilities may assist in supplying water from some other source until our normal water supply can be restored.

The emergency is considered over when service is restored or the contamination has been eliminated. Notification of this fact will be made to the entire campus.
