  • Dr. Haroon A. Khan, Professor of Political Science, published an essay "Failed States and the Lack of Good governance:  A Causal Explanation," in a volume In Search of Better Governance in South Asia and Beyond.  (September 2013)
  • Dr. Martin Halpern, Professor of History at Henderson State University, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to teach at the University of Munich in Germany in 2012-13. Halpern will be teaching in the English and American Studies Department at the University of Munich. Courses will include: Race, Class and Gender in 20th Century Labor History; Recent America; and Envisioning Depression Struggles and New Deal Culture. This is Halpern’s second Fulbright Scholarship. He was a senior lecturer at Tohoku University in Japan in 1998-99. (July 2012)
  • Dr. Haroon A. Khan, Professor of Political Science, recently traveled to Bangladesh to celebrate the publication of an essay “Problems of Good Governance and Democratization: A Case Study of Bangladesh,” in a volume Democracy in Bangladesh: Essays in Memory of Professor RI Choudhury, edited by Mahfuzul H. Chowdhury. While in Bangladesh, Dr. Khan also presented a paper, “Merit System and Bureaucracy: A Search for a Paradigm of Good Governance” at the International Conference on Governance and Public Policy in South and South-East Asia.
